Question:
When is the best time to travel to Italy?
Answer:
The peak travel
season is summer. Many client prefer to
travel in September and early October, as it is still warm
enough, and
attractions are far less crowded than in the
summer months. The
low season is considered to be
Oct. to March. If you are willing to travel during these
months, you
receive significant discounts on both
escorted tours and hotel accommodations, as
well as
finding incredible winter bargains from local shops that
you'll find hard
to resist. There are special events during
certain months, such as Carnevale in
Venice in Feb., the
Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Musical May Florentine)
which is
Italy's oldest and most prestigious music festival
which begins late April
through July or the La Scala
Opera Season which begins in December... The best time
to travel to the Amalfi Coast is May to mid June and mid-
September to
mid-October when there are fewer cars on
the road. Call a travel
specialist to discuss your travel
plans in more detail.
Question:
How far in advance should I make my travel plans?
Answer:
Reservations including airfare must
be made at least 21
days prior to travel. Land only bookings can be made up
to 10 days prior to travel.
Italy is one of the most
popular destinations in Europe and shorter tours tend to
sell out
quickly. We recommend booking 4 to 5 months in
advance. Winter tours with
their reduced pricing begin
selling in the end of October, and since the prices
are
discounted considerably and there are limited departures,
we recommend booking
these tours early as well. Many
operators run discounts and promotions
for booking early,
and for paying your package in full 4 months in advance.
Call our
office for more details.
