This 14-day tour
begins in Rome, a city filled with classical monuments dating
back to the Roman period. Then continue to Assisi to see the
frescoes by Giotto in the Basilica of Saint Francis, and Siena
to see the ancient walls and piazzas of this medieval city. Then
on to Florence, the center of the Renaissance period, visit the
sanctuary of Saint Anthony in Padua, and continue to Venice, the
city of canals. Travel toVerona, the home of Romeo and Juliet,
Lake Como with the spectacular Alps as its backdrop, Milan, the
center of Italian fashion, Bologna, the city famous among the
Italians for its fine cuisine, the Republic of San Marino, the
world’s smallest independent Republic. Continue to Perugia, the
heart of the Umbrian region, Rome for an overnight, Naples,
where pizza was first made, Pompeii, the ancient Roman city
buried by a volcanic eruption. Then on to Sorrento, the Amalfi
Coast, and finally the isle of Capri.

Day 1 - Saturday – USA-ROME
Depart from USA by scheduled service. Dinner and beverages will
be served on board.
Day 2 - Sunday – ROME
Arrival at Rome’s Leonardo Da Vinci airport where you’ll be met
and transferred by private car to your hotel. The remainder of
the day and evening are at leisure to discover why we call Rome
the Eternal City.
Day 3 - Monday – ROME
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning sightseeing tour of
Rome. Visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, Piazza Navona built on the
ruins of the Circus of Domitian, Trevi Fountain, Piazza della
Repubblica, Via Veneto, Via Nazionale, the Pantheon, Piazza
Venezia with the memorial to King Victor Emanuel II and the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier. Afternoon is at leisure and overnight in
Rome.
Day 4 – Tuesday – ROME/ASSISI/SIENA/FLORENCE
Depart from the hotel by deluxe motorcoach to Assisi, the
splendid and mystic town famous for its beautiful Basilica of
Saint Francis. In the afternoon continue to Siena, this
monumental and Medieval city encircled by its ancient walls and
famous for its splendid square “Piazza del Campo”. Every year
the famous “Palio” takes place in Siena. Proceed to Florence.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Florence.
Day 5 - Wednesday – FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning sightseeing
including the marvelous Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa
Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St.
John, the Academy of Fine Arts Gallery with the “David” by
Michelangelo and the Church of Santa Croce. Rest of the day at
leisure. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
Day 6 - Thursday – FLORENCE/PADUA/VENICE
Following breakfast at the hotel, departure to Padua to visit
the Basilica of Saint Anthony, guarded by Donatello's “Gattamelata”.
Continue to Venice, the city of gondolas, where you will enjoy a
guided walking tour including such highlights as the Doge's
Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark's Square and the Basilica
of St. Mark. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Venice.
Day 7 - Friday – VENICE
Breakfast in hotel. Full day at leisure for optional tour to the
islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello by motorlaunch or for
shopping. Dinner and overnight in Venice.
Day 8 - Saturday – VENICE/VERONA/LAKE COMO
This morning after breakfast departure for Verona, the romantic
town of Romeo and Juliet with its famous balcony and the
monumental Roman amphitheater called Arena. Continue to Como
where you will enjoy the scenery of Italy’s most beautiful lake.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Como.
Day 9 - Sunday – COMO/MILAN/SAN MARINO
Following breakfast at the hotel, departure to Milan for a
sightseeing tour of the city. Continue to Bologna, home of the
oldest European University, and known worldwide for its culinary
tradition and gastronomic specialties. Continue to San Marino,
the world’s smallest independent Republic. Dinner and overnight
at your hotel in San Marino.
Day 10 - Monday – SAN MARINO/PERUGIA/ROME
After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Perugia, a charming
town with its medieval city streets. Visit the Cathedral and the
Palazzo dei Priori. Continue to Rome. Overnight at your hotel in
Rome.
Day 11 – Tuesday – ROME/NAPLES/POMPEII/SORRENTO
Today start your second part of the tour with departure from
Rome by deluxe motorcoach south to Naples along the “Highway of
the Sun”. After passing the Abbey of Montecassino, founded in
529, completely destroyed during World War II and faithfully
reconstructed, proceed to Naples for a panoramic sightseeing
tour. Continue to Pompeii where, after lunch in a local
restaurant, you visit the excavation of this Roman city buried
by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Continue South to
Sorrento for dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 12 – Wednesday – SORRENTO
Following breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure in
Sorrento to shop or relax along the Amalfi Coast. Dinner and
overnight is at your hotel.
Day 13 – Thursday – SORRENTO/CAPRI/ROME
After breakfast transfer to the port of Sorrento to board the
ferry boat to Capri. Visit of the island. Lunch. In the
afternoon return to Sorrento and departure to Rome. Overnight at
your hotel in Rome.
Day 14 - Friday – ROME/U.S.A.
This morning after breakfast transfer by private car to Rome
Airport in time to board your flight back home.
