DAY 01: SATURDAY - PALERMO
On arrival, transfer on own to the Jolly Hotel Palermo. Enjoy a welcome
cocktail, dinner and overnight at your hotel.
DAY 02: SUNDAY - PALERMO – SEGESTA – ERICE – TRAPANI – AGRIGENTO
After buffet breakfast depart to Segesta to visit the magnificent Doric
Temple one of the best preserved examples of ancient Greek architecture set
in a unique and pristine landscape. Lunch at a local restaurant in Erice, a
medieval town full of myth and history, art and atmosphere located 2600 feet
above sea level. After lunch enjoy a tour of Trapani’s salt-mills, and then
continue to Agrigento. Enjoy an unforgettable illuminated tour of the Valley
of the Temples before reaching your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Jolly
Della Valle.
DAY 03: MONDAY - AGRIGENTO – PIAZZA ARMERINA - CATANIA
After a buffet breakfast, visit to the Valley of the Temples including the
Temples of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor and Pollux. Continue to
Piazza Armerina for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit of the
world famous Villa Romana del Casale known for its well preserved mosaics.
Continue to Catania for dinner and overnight at Jolly hotel.
DAY 04: TUESDAY - CATANIA – MONTE ETNA - SYRACUSE
After breakfast, a panoramic tour of Catania and, weather conditions
permitting, an excursion to Mount Etna. At close to 6000 feet above sea
level, Etna is the highest active volcano of Europe. Continue to Syracuse
for lunch at Jolly Hotel in Syracuse. After lunch, visit to the
archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise and
Dionysius “Ear” as well as the island of Ortigia, a singular treasure in the
Baroque style. Dinner and overnight at Jolly hotel.
DAY 05: WEDNESDAY - SIRACUSA – TAORMINA - MESSINA
Today after breakfast, depart to Taormina to enjoy time at leisure for
shopping or walking through the narrow streets. Lunch at a local restaurant,
then in the afternoon, visit the Greek Theatre. Continue to Messina for
dinner and overnight at Jolly hotel Messina situated in front of the
Straight.
DAY 06: THURSDAY - MESSINA – REGGIO CALABRIA- CAPO D’ORLANDO - CEFALU’-PALERMO
After a buffet breakfast, sea conditions permitting, embark to Reggio
Calabria and visit the famous “Bronzi di Riace.” Drive along the Thyrrenian
coast with a stop in Capo d’Orlando for lunch then continue to Cefalù, a
pleasant resort well known for its beautiful Norman Cathedral and medieval
wash-house built right into the rock. Continue to Palermo for dinner and
overnight at Jolly hotel Palermo.
DAY 07: FRIDAY - PALERMO- MONREALE
After this morning’s breakfast, depart to Monreale and visit the Duomo
(Cathedral) as well as the Benedictine Cloister fine examples of pure Norman
style. Visit the city of Palermo including the Cathedral, the Palatine
Chapel in the Royal Palace and enjoy a panoramic tour of the historical
center. Lunch at Jolly hotel. In the afternoon, time at leisure or enjoy an
optional excursion to the Catacombs, the Handcrafts village of Palermo and
Mondello. Dinner and overnight at Jolly hotel Palermo.
DAY 08: SATURDAY - PALERMO
After a buffet breakfast, end of the Tour. Self transfer to airport.
