Rome, Italy

Day 2 - A FreeStyle Day in Rome
Tailor your vacation to your own interests
with a choice from any one of these included
tours:
• Classic Rome – Visit the major sights in
Rome including the Trevi Fountain, St.
Peter’s Basilica and the Pantheon.
• Imperial Rome – A sampling of the most
impressive sites including the Piazza
Venezia, Circus Maximus, the Pyramid of
Caius Cestius, the Colosseum and the
Basilica of St Paul.
• Christian Rome – Gain insight into early
Christian traditions in Rome with visits to
the Esquiline Hill, Holy Staircase, Lateran
Palace and the Basilica of St. John. Proceed
along the Ancient Appian Way to visit the
Catacombs.
• Roman Castles – Journey outside of Rome
past the Baths of Caracalla and along the
Ancient Appian Way and the ‘Road of the
Lakes’ to Castelgandolfo where the Pope
keeps his summer residence. Stop in Frascati
for a taste of local wine and to absorb the
flavor of village life.
• Ancient Ostia – Follow the coast road to
Ostia, a Roman city of the Imperial age.
Visit “Via delle Tombe” which leads to the
“Porta Romana.” Continue to the “terme di
Nettuno” and admire the beautiful mosaics,
the theatre built by Agrippa and the Forum.
• Rome By Night – See the city highlights,
including Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum,
Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona.
Day 3 - First Class Train to Florence
A reserved first class seat on the “Eurostar
Italia” train is a comfortable – and
traditional – way to travel to Florence, the
city of the Medicis and home of the Italian
Renaissance. Check-in to your choice of

Day 4 - A FreeStyle Day in Florence
Customize your vacation with the included

• Morning Sightseeing – Drive along the
Viale dei Colli up to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Visit the Duomo and finish your tour at the
Galleria dell’Accademia where you can admire
Michelangelo’s David.
• Afternoon Sightseeing – Begin with Fiesole,
a town of Etruscan origin overlooking
Florence. Visit the Church of Santa Croce
including the tombs of Michelangelo,
Machiavelli and Galileo. At the Galleria
degli Uffizi, see works by Michelangelo,
Leonardo da Vinci, and Rafael.
• Pisa Excursion – Drive through the Tuscan
countryside to Pisa and visit the Leaning
Tower, Cathedral and Baptistery.

Bernini
Palace (Florence, Italy)
Bernini Palace is situated in a 14th century
palace with original frescoes, antique
prints, pantings and period decor. The hotel
has has 75 guest rooms. Breakfast is served
in the historic Sala Conrini, once a meeting
place for the members of the Parliament of
the Kingdom of Italy. The hotel is located
behind Piazza della Signoria, the hotel is
just a few steps from the Uffizi gallery and
Palazzo Vecchio.
