Day 1 -
Palermo, Sicily
Sicily is the largest island in the
Mediterranean, rich with a long heritage of
ancient history and great art. Check-in to
your superior first class hotel and enjoy a
welcome cocktail before dinner. Meals D

Day 2 - Monreale & Palermo Sightseeing
Today’s tour includes the unusual cathedral
of Monreale, a 12th century blend of Arab,
Byzantine and Norman styles with lovely
interior mosaics. In Palermo, an ancient
city once ruled by Phoenicians, Romans,
Goths, Byzantines, Arabs and Normans, you’ll
visit the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Normanni
and the Cappela Palatina. Then relax over a
typical Palermitano lunch, including panelle
and arancine, with wine. Meals B,L
Day 3 - Palermo / Segesta / Erice /
Marsala-Trapani
Drive to Segesta for a private tour of the
island’s best-preserved Greek archaeological
site, located in the scenic Sicilian
countryside. See the perfectly preserved
Doric temple and ascend the summit for
spectacular views. Continue to the medieval
town of Erice; stroll the cobblestone
streets and stop-in for a visit with Maria
Grammatico, the world-famous pastry chef, to
sample the delights of her kitchen. Your
last stop of the day is a winery in Marsala,
the city of wine. Tonight is spent in a
magnificent country manor near

Day 4 - Marsala-Trapani / Agrigento
Your sightseeing begins at a scenic estate
to taste the local extra-virgin olive oil.
Then tour the Valley of the Temples in
Agrigento – one of the world’s most
important archeological sites. After dinner
tonight in a fine restaurant, you’ll tour
the valley’s illuminated temples. Enjoy a
peaceful overnight at your superior
first-class hotel, overlooking the bay.

Day 5 - Noto and Siracusa
Journey through the countryside of central
Sicily en route to Piazza Armerina to see
the remains of Villa del Casale and the
largest collection of late Roman mosaics.
Next is Noto, where you’ll explore the
historic town center, filled with beautiful
Baroque palaces, churches and homes. Then
travel to Siracusa, a gorgeous city with a
long history of overlapping cultures.
Check-in to your superior first-class hotel

Hotel Ortigia
Day 6 - Visit Mt. Etna / Taormina
Siracusa was the city of Archimedes and
Aeschylus and once rivaled Athens as the
most important city of the ancient Greek
world. Your sightseeing includes Ortigia,
the city’s medieval section, and the
Archaeological Park to see the Altar of
Geron II and the Ear of Dionysius. Visit the
town’s well-preserved Greek Theater carved
out of the rocky hillside and ascend Mt.
Etna to 6,500 feet above sea level to an
area of recent eruptions. After a lunch of
regional Etna cuisine and wine, you’ll
continue on to Taormina, Sicily’s most
famous resort town and a favorite of
19th-century English aristocrats. The city
is lovely by day, and in the evening the
ambience is simply enchanting. Stroll the
illuminated streets and enjoy the view of
Mt. Etna’s nocturnal fires. Overnight in
beautiful Naxos Beach in a charming superior

Day 7 - Taormina
This morning, you visit the Greco-Roman
theater, one of Sicily’s largest and
wonderfully preserved. From this hilltop
site, you’ll have breathtaking views of the
Ionian Sea and Mt. Etna in the background.
The rest of the day is free to explore at
your own pace. You’ll find winding medieval
streets, welcoming cafes and delightful
boutiques. This evening, gather for a
farewell dinner at one of our favorite
Sicilian restaurants. Meals B,D
