of Sicily including the imposing Mount Etna,
the active volcano, Trapani the fishing
village with its salt mills, Cefalu and
its long stretch of beach, Capo D’Orlando
with its spectacular views, and Taormina,
considered by most to be the jewel of the Mediterranean. You’ll
see the influences of many cultures over the centuries in the
cathedrals, Duomos and Cloisters of Palermo,
Tindari, and Monreale.
Weather conditions permitting you will also have a chance to see
the famous Bronzes of Riace which were
carefully lifted from the bottom of the sea, painstakingly
restored and on display just over the strait of Messina in
Reggio Calabria

Day
1 - FRI – USA.
Depart from USA by scheduled service. Dinner and beverages will
be served on board.
Day 2 - SAT – PALERMO
Arrival at Palermo airport, where you will be met and
transferred to the Jolly Hotel. In the late afternoon there will be
welcome cocktail gathering followed by dinner. Overnight at the
Hotel.
Day 3 - SUN – PALERMO / CEFALU` / PIAZZA ARMERINA / CATANIA
Following breakfast, depart for Cefalu` to visit the beautiful
Normal Cathedral. Continue to Piazza Armeriana for lunch at a local
restaurant. After lunch visit the famous well-preserved mosaics of
Villa Romana del Casale, once a Roman emperor's country estate.
Continue to Catania for a panoramic tour of the city. Dinner and
overnight at the Jolly hotel.
Day 4 - MON – CATANIA/MOUNT ETNA/TAORMINA/MESSINA
After breakfast, and weather conditions permitting depart for an
excursion to Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano. Continue
to Taormina with lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternooon
visit the Greek Theater with leisure time for shopping or to stroll
along the narrow streets. Return to Messina, dinner and overnight at
the hotel.
Day 5 - TUE – MESSINA/REGGIO CALABRIA/SYRACUSE
Following breakfast, and with sea conditions permitting, embark
for Reggio Calabria to visit the famous "Bronzi di Riace". Proceed
to Syracuse to have lunch at the Jolly hotel. In the afternoon a
visit of the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the
Paradise and Dionysius "Ear" as well as a visit to the island of
Ortigia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 - WED – SYRACUSE/MODICA/RAGUSA/AGRIGENTO
Following breakfast, depart for Modica well konwn for its
Baroque architecture with a stop at the famous Bonajuto Chocolate
factory. Proceed to Ragusa, whose historical center "Ibla" is an
important testimony to Baroque architecture. Lunch at a local
retaurant. Proceed to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples.
After dinner enjoy a memorable and unforgettable illuminated
panoramic tour of the Temples. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 - THU – AGRIGENTO/SEGESTA/ERICE/TRAPANI/PALERMO
Following breakfast, Depart for Segesta to vist the majestic
Doric Temple, left virtually intact and situated on a windswept hill
overlooking the valley. Continue to Erice by the sea, an enchanting
medieval hill town for lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch
enjoy an orientation tour of Trapani's salt mills. Proceed to
Palermo with dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 - FRI – PALERMO/MONREALE
After breakfast, depart for Monreale, to visit the renowned
Duomo and the Benedictine Cloister. Afternoon tour of Palermo,
including the Cathedral, the Palantine Chapel in the Royal Palace,
as well as a panoramic tour of the city's historical center. Lunch
at the Jolly hotel. Afternoon free to visit Palermo on your own or
you can take an optional tour of the Catacombs, the handicrafts
village of Palermo and Mondello. Dinner and overnight at the Jolly
hotel in Palermo.
Day 9 - SAT – PALERMO/USA
Following breakfast you will be transferred to Palermo airport
for you return flight to the USA.
